Full Armor Ranch, a non-profit sober living home for military veterans and first responders, serves as a transitional housing option for individuals undergoing treatment for substance use disorders. These homes, also known as recovery residences, offer a temporary living arrangement that bridges the gap between inpatient and outpatient treatment. Residents typically stay for several months as they work on rebuilding their lives in recovery.
Transitioning between residential and outpatient care can be challenging for many individuals recovering from substance use issues. This shift involves moving from a highly structured environment with substantial support and accountability to a more independent living situation, which can increase the risk of relapse. In fact, relapse rates for those recovering from drug and alcohol addiction can be as high as 60%. Sober living homes provide a supportive environment that can ease this transition.
